SBP reserves rise $39m to $21.44bn

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $39 million during the week ended September 25, reaching $21.44 billion, according to data released by the central bank.
 
The country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $26.77 billion as of September 25, compared with $26.81 billion a week earlier.
 
SBP-held reserves accounted for $21.44 billion of the total, while net reserves held by commercial banks stood at $5.33 billion.
 
The latest increase takes SBP reserves to their highest level during the reported period, following an $11 million rise in the previous week.
