UK offers technical support to Pakistan for trade and investment reforms

The United Kingdom has offered technical assistance to Pakistan to strengthen its institutional and policy framework, improve the business environment and support trade and investment growth. The offer was discussed during a meeting between British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
 
The talks focused on fiscal management, tax administration, digitalisation, expenditure efficiency, trade promotion, public investment and public-private partnerships. The UK also expressed interest in supporting project preparation and PPP capacity through technical expertise, including at the provincial level.
 
Both sides discussed opportunities to expand bilateral trade and investment, increase UK business engagement in Pakistan and strengthen the role of SMEs and diaspora networks. Aviation financing and investment opportunities were also discussed.
