Oil prices declined around 1% on Thursday as the recovery in crude exports from the Gulf eased concerns over supply disruptions. A surprise increase in US oil inventories also added pressure on prices.
Investors were meanwhile monitoring renewed diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Brent crude futures fell 1.1% to $96.92 per barrel by 4:20 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) declined 1.4% to $89.18 per barrel.
