Pakistan’s seafood exports to China increased 24% in 2025 to approximately $255 million, highlighting growing demand for Pakistani seafood in the Chinese market.
The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) said products including mud crabs, shrimp, lobster and fresh and frozen fish offer significant potential for export growth and diversification.
The chamber called for greater investment in modern seafood processing, cold-chain infrastructure, quality control and international certifications to strengthen Pakistan’s position in China’s growing seafood market.
PCJCCI officials also stressed the need for stronger business links with Chinese importers and distributors, noting that expanded seafood exports could generate foreign exchange, create jobs and support coastal communities in Sindh and Balochistan.
