Pakistan, Jordan foreign ministers discuss Gaza crisis

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday discussed the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, reaffirming support for coordinated diplomatic efforts to address the crisis.

 

During a telephone conversation, the two leaders expressed deep concern over continued Israeli military operations, intensified air strikes, ground offensives, and escalating settler violence. They also condemned repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli settlers and far-right groups, as well as restrictions on Palestinian worshippers, describing such actions as a threat to regional peace and stability.

 

The foreign ministers also reviewed Jordan's proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate diplomatic responses to the evolving situation. Safadi appreciated Pakistan's efforts to promote regional peace, while Dar reiterated Islamabad's longstanding support for the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and its backing for a two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
