Speaking at an event marking China’s National Day, the prime minister said the new phase, referred to as CPEC 2.0, would build on the long-standing economic partnership between the two countries and support broader development and investment.

Sharif said Pakistan was committed to implementing agreements reached with the Chinese leadership and highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

He noted that 2026 is also significant for Pakistan-China relations as the two countries mark 75 years of diplomatic ties.
