Nestlé, Platinum Equity announce Peranel joint venture

Nestlé S.A., the majority shareholder of Nestlé Pakistan, and private equity firm Platinum Equity have agreed to establish Peranel, a 50:50 joint venture that will combine Nestlé’s global waters and premium beverages business into a standalone company, subject to regulatory approvals and employee consultations. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

Peranel will manage a portfolio of more than 30 brands sold across 120 countries, including S.Pellegrino, Perrier, Acqua Panna, Nestlé Pure Life and other regional water brands. The new company is expected to be headquartered in Paris and led by Muriel Lienau, the current CEO of Nestlé’s waters and premium beverages business.

Nestlé Pakistan said its local water operations are part of the global business included in the proposed transaction. However, the implementation in Pakistan remains subject to definitive agreements, corporate approvals and regulatory clearances. At this stage, the company intends only to incorporate a local entity, with further disclosures to be made if any material developments arise.
