Government Raises Rs144 Billion Through Hybrid Sukuk Auction

The government raised Rs144.15 billion through a Hybrid Sukuk auction conducted by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), with strong investor demand across both short- and long-term instruments.
 
For the fresh 3-month, 6-month and 1-year fixed-rate Sukuk, the government had set a target of Rs75 billion but received Rs227.7 billion in bids. Total acceptances amounted to Rs76.79 billion.
 
The 3-month Sukuk attracted Rs52.98 billion at a cut-off yield of 11.48%, while Rs4.71 billion was accepted for the 6-month tenor at 11.68%. The 1-year Sukuk fetched the highest yield at 11.94%, with Rs19.11 billion accepted.
 
Separately, the government reopened its 10-year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) Sukuk, targeting Rs50 billion. The issue received an overwhelming Rs325.86 billion in bids, with Rs67.36 billion ultimately accepted.
 
The 10-year VRR Sukuk was issued at a cut-off yield of 11.63%, representing a 24-basis-point spread over the reference rate of 11.39%.
 
The strong bidding activity highlights continued investor demand for government-backed Islamic securities amid prevailing interest-rate conditions.
