Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake official visits to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Türkiye from 3–5 July 2026, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson on Thursday.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other cabinet members and senior government officials.
During his visit to Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the funeral ceremony of the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He will extend condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Iranian leadership and the bereaved families, while reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly nation during this period of mourning.
Following his visit to Iran, the Prime Minister will travel to Istanbul, Türkiye, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders are expected to discuss the full spectrum of bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. They will also exchange views on regional peace, security, and other matters of mutual interest.
The Foreign Office spokesperson further stated that during his stay in Istanbul, the Prime Minister will address a Business Conference organized by Pakistan to showcase the country’s trade and investment opportunities in key sectors, including Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, information technology, and privatization. The event will bring together prominent Turkish business leaders, investors, senior officials, and other distinguished participants.
