Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to deepening economic cooperation with the United States, with a focus on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, agriculture, information technology, mining, minerals, and energy.
The remarks came during a meeting with a visiting US Congressional delegation led by Representatives Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, where the prime minister described economic cooperation as a key pillar of Pakistan-US relations and invited more American companies to invest in Pakistan.
Sharif highlighted the role of the Pakistani-American diaspora in strengthening bilateral ties and welcomed increased engagement between the two countries through more frequent exchanges of congressional and parliamentary delegations.
Later, the prime minister hosted a reception for a delegation of US corporate executives representing the IT, energy, mining, and manufacturing sectors, reaffirming the government's commitment to fostering a favourable environment for foreign investment and expanding economic partnerships with the United States.
