Pakistan’s Forex Reserves Edge Up $19m to $17.12bn

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $19 million during the week ended August 28, 2026, reaching $17.12 billion.
 
According to the central bank’s latest weekly statement, the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $22.53 billion. Commercial banks accounted for $5.41 billion of the total net foreign exchange reserves.
 
The SBP said its reserves rose to $17,117.8 million as of August 28.
 
The latest increase follows a $17 million rise in the previous week, when the central bank’s reserves reached $17.10 billion as of August 21, 2026.
