Pakistan has welcomed the US EXIM Bank’s proposal to develop a broader financing framework aimed at consolidating priority projects, creating a multi-year transaction pipeline, and facilitating US-backed financing.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and US EXIM Bank President and Chairman John Jovanovic in Washington.
According to the finance ministry, both sides agreed to identify near-term projects, appoint focal persons, and work towards finalising the strategic financing framework, with the aim of signing it on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in September 2026.
