Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has approved the purchase of its costliest spot LNG cargo to date, securing a shipment at USD 21.88 per MMBtu.
According to bid documents published on the PLL website, the cargo is scheduled to arrive between July 27 and 28. The tender attracted only a single bid from TotalEnergies Gas & Power, which offered the cargo at the approved price of USD 21.88 per MMBtu.
The latest purchase marks a notable increase in spot LNG procurement costs compared with previous acquisitions. PLL had earlier bought a cargo for delivery between June 30 and July 4 at USD 16.73 per MMBtu, followed by another shipment for July 10–11 at USD 17.37 per MMBtu. A subsequent cargo scheduled for July 15–16 was purchased at USD 18.23 per MMBtu.
