The government has reduced the price of petrol by PKR 3.19 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by PKR 1.50 per litre, with the revised rates taking effect from August 8.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism.
Following the adjustment, the price of petrol has been lowered from PKR 333.01 to PKR 329.82 per litre, while HSD now costs PKR 382.36 per litre, down from PKR 383.86 per litre.
The revised prices will remain in effect until the next scheduled fuel price review, with adjustments continuing to reflect movements in international oil prices and other pricing components.
In the previous fortnightly review, the government had raised petrol prices by PKR 4.45 per litre while reducing HSD prices by PKR 2.00 per litre.
