Oil prices edged lower on Thursday as progress in talks between Iran and Oman improved expectations for a potential reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Investors also remained cautious while awaiting further signs of a possible U.S.-Iran peace agreement.
Brent crude futures fell 0.42% to USD 79.12 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined 0.56% to USD 74.80 per barrel. In the previous session, Brent posted a modest gain, whereas WTI settled slightly lower.
