National Refinery issues PKR 10bn Sukuk to diversify funding

National Refinery Limited (NRL) has successfully issued a PKR 10 billion rated, unsecured, privately placed short-term Sukuk, marking the company's first capital market debt issuance.
 
According to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Sukuk carries a six-month tenor and is priced at 3-month KIBOR minus 10 basis points per annum. The instrument has been assigned an A1 short-term credit rating by PACRA.
 
NRL said the Sukuk will serve as an alternative source of funding to meet its working capital requirements, broadening the company's financing options beyond conventional borrowing.
 
The company disclosed the issuance under the Pakistan Stock Exchange's material information requirements and requested the exchange to notify TRE Certificate Holders accordingly.
