Govt raises petrol price by PKR 1.63, HSD by PKR 1.55

The government has increased the ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) with effect from July 29, following recommendations by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Under the revised rates, the price of petrol has been increased by PKR 1.63 to PKR 335.81 per litre from PKR 334.18, while HSD has risen by PKR 1.55 to PKR 388.38 per litre from PKR 386.83.

The adjustment comes despite a sharp decline in global Brent crude prices in recent days, driven by easing geopolitical tensions. Fuel prices continue to be reviewed under Pakistan's pricing mechanism, which factors in international oil prices and exchange rate movements.

The petroleum levy remains unchanged at PKR 80 per litre on petrol and PKR 70.82 per litre on HSD. The Climate Support Levy also remains at PKR 5 per litre, while customs duty stands at PKR 17.28 per litre on petrol and PKR 15.68 per litre on HSD.
