Altern Energy Limited has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has cancelled the company’s generation licence with effect from August 28, 2026.
According to the company’s disclosure, the cancellation follows the termination of its agreement, after which Altern Energy is no longer required to sell electricity to the Central Power Generation Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G).
As a result, the company said its power generation equipment has become surplus to its requirements. The Board of Directors has directed the management to explore proposals for the disposal of the plant and machinery.
