Honda Atlas discontinues BR-V production in Pakistan

Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) has discontinued production of the Honda BR-V in Pakistan, with the company saying the model has reached the end of its product lifecycle.

A senior HACL executive said the decision was not linked to difficulties in sourcing parts or accessories from Japan or other markets. Production was halted as monthly volumes had remained low at around 25 to 50 units.

The BR-V has also been removed from Honda Atlas’ official website. The company has not confirmed whether a replacement model will be introduced in the near term.

According to Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) data, combined production of the Honda BR-V and HR-V fell sharply to 120 units in July-August 2026, compared with 1,460 units during the same period last year. Combined sales declined to 191 units from 731 units a year earlier.

Honda began assembling the BR-V in Pakistan in April 2017, producing 648 units and selling 527 units during its first month.

Dealers said the BR-V had already become largely absent from showrooms, with weak customer interest in both bookings and immediate purchases. Honda’s vendors also confirmed that production had been stopped amid weak sales.

The decline comes as competition in Pakistan’s auto market has intensified, particularly with the growing presence of Chinese and Korean models, including hybrid, range-extended electric and fully electric vehicles.
