Pakistan to showcase mineral potential at Riyadh Future Minerals Forum

Pakistan will showcase its mineral wealth and investment opportunities at the upcoming Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh later this month, as part of efforts to attract foreign investment and deepen cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the minerals and energy sectors.

The development was discussed during a meeting between Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, where both sides reviewed bilateral ties and explored avenues for enhanced collaboration.

During the meeting held on Friday, the federal minister conveyed Pakistan’s respect for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing his leadership as visionary. He said Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations are rooted in shared religious and cultural bonds, strong people-to-people connections, and a history of mutual support, which continues to expand across multiple sectors.

The minister informed the ambassador that, at the invitation of the Saudi government, Pakistan will participate fully in the Riyadh forum and set up a dedicated pavilion titled ‘Pakistan — The Mineral Marvel’. The pavilion will present Pakistan’s geological potential and mineral resources to global investors, mining companies, and policymakers.

A Pakistani delegation led by the federal minister, along with 13 state-owned and private-sector mineral companies, will attend the forum. Pakistan will also host a 90-minute country showcase session at FMF titled ‘Unleashing Potential: Accelerating Pakistan’s Mineral Revolution’. The session will feature senior government officials, chief executives of mining companies, foreign investors, and international experts, focusing on accelerating mineral development and investment in Pakistan.

The minister said the Pakistan Pavilion would also serve as a curtain-raiser for the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum (PMIF) 2026, scheduled to be held in Islamabad in April, and would help attract international participation for the event.

Welcoming Pakistan’s participation, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy reaffirmed the strength of Pakistan-Saudi relations, describing them as longstanding and brotherly. He said both countries have significant potential for cooperation in the minerals and energy sectors and expressed confidence that the Future Minerals Forum would provide an effective platform to expand collaboration.
