Pakistani and Indonesian healthcare stakeholders have signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with an indicative combined trade value of $625 million, strengthening commercial cooperation between the two countries.
The agreements were signed at the Consulate General of Indonesia in Karachi during a business dinner held for delegates of Indonesia Medica, following three days of engagement at the Health Asia Expo & Conference 2026.
The MoUs were signed between Indonesia’s HIPELKI and the Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan (HDAP), PT Borden Eagle Indonesia and Muller & Phipps Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., and PT Tele Sehat Indonesia and Educast Global Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.
Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir said the agreements represented a shift from discussions and exhibition-based engagement toward practical business partnerships between companies and industry bodies.
The HIPELKI-HDAP agreement will provide a framework for cooperation in business matching, reciprocal market access, regulatory and industry information sharing, capacity building, research and development, technology transfer and manufacturing.
The two organisations will also explore opportunities for production machinery, joint ventures, local manufacturing and digital healthcare solutions. HIPELKI represents around 250 stakeholders in Indonesia’s medical-device sector, while HDAP represents about 300 Pakistani importers and manufacturers.
The other two agreements are focused on direct business-to-business cooperation and are expected to expand commercial opportunities between Pakistani and Indonesian companies.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal also visited the Indonesia Medica pavilion during the opening of Health Asia 2026, participating in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony and supporting efforts to strengthen healthcare and trade ties between the two countries.
The Indonesian Consulate said the agreements demonstrate growing momentum for deeper healthcare-sector cooperation and are expected to support longer-term commercial partnerships, technology collaboration and investment opportunities.
