National coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) are meeting in Islamabad from Monday to Wednesday to review cooperation plans and organisational matters during Pakistan’s 2026-27 chairmanship.
The Foreign Office said the meeting marks the first session of the SCO Council of National Coordinators (CNC) under Pakistan’s chairmanship of the Council of Heads of State.
Pakistan’s national coordinator for the SCO will chair the meeting, which is being attended by representatives from member countries and the SCO Secretariat.
Discussions will cover the programme of activities for Pakistan’s chairmanship, preparations for upcoming SCO meetings and events, and other issues related to coordination and cooperation within the organisation.
Pakistan is pursuing its chairmanship under the theme, “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.”
Separately, the Capital Development Authority has invited bids for upgrading the Jinnah Convention Centre and constructing a new block ahead of next year’s SCO summit in Islamabad.
