The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD), with the revised rates taking effect from September 4.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism.
Petrol prices were raised by Rs2.84 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs349.00 per litre from Rs346.16. Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel increased by Rs2.28 per litre to Rs374.31, compared with the previous rate of Rs372.03.
The revised prices reflect the government's periodic fuel price adjustments, which are influenced by movements in international oil markets and other related cost components.
The latest increase follows the previous fuel price review, during which petrol prices were raised by Rs2.29 per litre and diesel prices by Rs1.11 per litre.
