A delegation from the Ministry of Planning and Development, headed by Engineer Amir Zameer Ahmed Khan, visited the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) headquarters to review the progress of development projects being implemented with World Bank assistance.
PESCO Chief Executive Officer Akhtar Hameed Khan and senior officials received the delegation at the head office. During the visit, Chief Engineer of the Project Management Unit (PMU) Habib-ur-Rehman Marwat briefed the delegation on the status of ongoing schemes, construction progress, project targets and measures being taken to improve the power transmission network.
Officials said the World Bank-supported initiatives are aimed at strengthening PESCO's transmission infrastructure, expanding system capacity and improving the reliability of electricity supplied to consumers.
The visiting delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects and emphasised the need for effective monitoring, adherence to implementation timelines and timely completion of the ongoing schemes.
