Pakistan Optimistic About Resuming Stalled Mediation Efforts

Pakistan remains hopeful of reviving stalled diplomatic efforts to mediate the US-Iran conflict following a “positive and productive” meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran.

 

According to Naqvi, discussions focused on the ongoing US-Iran conflict, rising tensions in the Middle East and the steps needed to restore the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which could help pave the way for a broader settlement.

 

Naqvi said significant progress was achieved during the talks, while President Pezeshkian openly presented Iran’s concerns and position, resulting in a constructive exchange between the two sides.

 

Pakistan has expressed optimism that the renewed diplomatic momentum could support further negotiations and contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
