Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed increasing investment interest from Qatar as Pakistan seeks to deepen economic and commercial ties with Doha.
The prime minister expressed his views during a meeting in Islamabad with Sheikh Nayef bin Eid Al Thani, Chairman of Ratnaj Group and Tamim Holdings, who led the visiting Qatari delegation.
Welcoming the delegation, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the longstanding and close relations between Pakistan and Qatar, describing the bilateral ties as strong and fraternal.
The prime minister also referred to his recent visit to Qatar to offer condolences following the death of the country’s Father Emir and said he was looking forward to the upcoming visit of Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Pakistan.
Members of the Qatari delegation thanked the Pakistani government for its hospitality and expressed a strong interest in expanding their investments in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Kayani and senior government officials.
The development comes as Pakistan continues efforts to attract foreign investment and strengthen economic partnerships with Gulf countries.
