The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has released PKR972.5 million for development projects in the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project area as part of efforts to strengthen relations with local communities.
The funds were handed over to the Diamer district administration during a ceremony at the Commissioner’s Office of the Diamer-Astore Division.
According to WAPDA, the amount will finance initiatives aimed at improving living standards and supporting socio-economic development in communities affected by the project.
WAPDA is currently implementing development schemes worth approximately PKR78.5 billion under the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project.
