Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that Pakistan desired to further strengthen its exemplary brotherly relations with Türkiye and enhance bilateral economic partnership, particularly in the fields of agriculture and livestock.
The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with a four-member delegation of Türkiye’s Agricultural Technologies Cluster (TUME), led by its Board Chairman Abdulkadir Karagöz, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.
Welcoming the delegation, the prime minister highlighted that there were vast opportunities to expand cooperation with the brotherly country Türkiye in agriculture and livestock sectors.
He said Pakistan was committed to modernising its agriculture sector in line with global advancements, particularly by adopting innovative technologies as successfully practiced in Türkiye’s agricultural commodities and livestock sectors.
“ALLAH ALMIGHTY has blessed Pakistan with abundant resources in the agriculture sector. We are striving to fully harness this potential through the use of modern technology and comprehensive planning,” the prime minister said.
He underscored the importance of enhanced bilateral cooperation to benefit from modern agricultural technologies and expertise, adding that Pakistan and Türkiye could jointly play an important role in the global food value chain.
During the meeting, TUME Board Chairman Abdulkadir Karagöz briefed the prime minister on the use of advanced technologies to enhance productivity in his organisation. He also expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye in agriculture and livestock sectors.
Karagöz said that the brotherly leadership of both countries served as a guiding force for promoting closer collaboration between the business communities of Pakistan and Türkiye.
