Passenger car sales of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) members rose 35 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in December 2025, although volumes declined on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, industry data showed on Monday.
Total passenger car sales stood at 10,671 units in December, down 14 per cent compared with 12,409 units sold in November 2025. Despite the monthly decline, sales were significantly higher than the 7,905 units recorded in December 2024.
According to data released by PAMA, passenger car sales increased 35 per cent YoY in December 2025. In the first six months of FY26, from July to December 2025, cumulative passenger car sales rose 42 per cent to 65,910 units, compared with 46,502 units in the same period last year.
Sales of 1,300cc and above vehicles reached 5,163 units in December, marking a sharp 73 per cent increase compared with 2,977 units sold in December 2024. In contrast, sales of 1,000cc cars fell to just 303 units from 542 units a year earlier, largely due to the production shutdown of the Suzuki WagonR. Below 1,000cc vehicles recorded sales of 5,193 units, up 20 per cent from 4,345 units in December 2024.
In the electric vehicle segment, Dewan Motors’ Honri-Ve posted sales of 12 units in December, down from 41 units in the same month last year.Sales of buses and trucks rose to 372 units in December 2025, compared with 193 units in December 2024. Jeep and pick-up sales also improved, increasing to 2,609 units from 1,915 units during the same period last year.
The tractor industry recorded sales of 3,399 units in December, reflecting a YoY decline of around 45 per cent.Sales of motorcycles and rickshaws increased 36 per cent YoY, although volumes fell 3.0 per cent MoM to 160,408 units in December 2025. This lifted first half FY26 sales to 923,759 units, up 33 per cent YoY. Atlas Honda once again posted an all-time high monthly figure, selling 143,091 units in December.

According to Topline Research, strong YoY growth was driven by new market entrants, lower interest rates, easing inflation, and improving macroeconomic sentiment. However, month on month sales declined mainly due to the year-end effect, as buyers delayed purchases in anticipation of new year registrations.
On a company basis, Honda Atlas Cars recorded 75 per cent YoY growth, though sales slipped month on month to 1,943 units in December. City and Civic sales rose 79 per cent to 1,739 units, while BR-V and HR-V models increased 46 per cent to 204 units.
