Korea’s Bankware Global Wins Rs1.6bn Software Contract in Pakistan

South Korean core-banking and fintech company Bankware Global has secured a 7.98 billion won (approximately PKR 1.57 billion) contract to develop a system and supply software to Pakistan’s Post Office Department.

The Seoul-based company disclosed the agreement in a notice to the Korea Exchange on Tuesday, stating that the project will run from August 7, 2026, to March 6, 2028. The contract represents 12.6% of Bankware Global’s total sales in 2025 and will be executed through a joint venture.

Pakistan Post operates a nationwide network of around 13,000 post offices, providing services ranging from domestic and international mail to remittances, utility bill collection and CNIC renewal. The department is also pursuing modernisation initiatives aimed at integrating advanced technology into its operations.

According to Bankware Global, the payment structure includes a 20% upfront payment, while the remaining 80% will be released in stages based on project implementation, sector-wise inspections, and the commencement of operations and maintenance.

Founded more than 17 years ago, Bankware Global develops cloud-native core banking platforms, financial ERP systems, card-processing solutions and SaaS-based banking technologies for financial institutions across Asia.
