Bank of Punjab Proposes Rs30bn Equity Subscription

The Bank of Punjab (BOP) has proposed an equity subscription of up to Rs30 billion, subject to obtaining the required regulatory and corporate approvals.
 
According to the disclosure, the proposed issuance will be carried out in two tranches:
 
Up to Rs20 billion by December 31, 2026
Remaining amount by June 30, 2027
 
The proposed issue price has been set at Rs38.20 per ordinary share. If the bank’s prevailing market price at the time of issuance is higher than Rs38.20, the applicable issue price will be the market price plus a 5% premium.
 
The proposed equity subscription is intended to be made by the Government of Punjab, through the issuance of ordinary shares otherwise than by way of a right issue.
 
The proposal was approved by BOP’s Board of Directors at its 334th (Emergent) meeting held on August 7, 2026, and remains subject to all required regulatory and corporate approvals.
