Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain said Pakistan has ample urea stocks and dismissed reports of a fertiliser shortage, assuring that supplies will remain sufficient for the upcoming crop season.
During a meeting with Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah, officials reviewed fertiliser availability, pricing and distribution, with a focus on ensuring farmers have access to affordable supplies. The discussions also covered coordinated efforts between the federal and provincial governments and fertiliser manufacturers to maintain stable prices and strengthen the supply chain.
Hussain said the government is working closely with stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted fertiliser availability at reasonable prices and has urged fertiliser companies to lower urea prices to support farmers. He reiterated that fertiliser production is continuing normally, market supplies remain adequate, and no shortages are expected in the coming months.
