The government raised Rs239.33 billion through the auction of fixed-rate discounted and variable rental rate hybrid Sukuk, exceeding the combined pre-auction target of Rs125 billion, as investor demand remained strong.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) auction attracted Rs741.29 billion in realised bids against a face value of Rs770.23 billion, nearly 5.9 times the target. The government accepted Sukuk with a combined face value of Rs250.40 billion, translating into realised proceeds of Rs239.33 billion.
Cut-off yields stood at 11.4994% for the three-month Sukuk, 11.6902% for the six-month issue, 11.8400% for the one-year Sukuk, and 11.5803% for the 10-year variable rental rate Sukuk. The one-year paper recorded the highest cut-off yield among the four tenors.
Demand was strongest for the 10-year Sukuk, which received Rs425.37 billion in realised bids against a target of Rs50 billion, while the government accepted Rs76.53 billion from the issue. Overall, the government accepted around 32% of the total realised bids submitted across all tenors.
