Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Manila ahead of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
The two leaders reviewed progress in Pakistan-Russia ties and agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, connectivity, and other key sectors. They also pledged to enhance coordination at multilateral forums and emphasized the importance of sustained high-level engagement to advance the bilateral partnership.
Dar and Lavrov also exchanged views on regional and global developments and agreed to maintain close coordination on issues of mutual interest.
Separately, Dar met Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rehman on the sidelines of the ARF Ministerial Meeting. The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, while agreeing to promote stronger people-to-people contacts and closer engagement between the two countries.
