The government has increased petroleum prices under its new daily pricing mechanism, raising the price of petrol by Rs4.93 per litre to Rs320.73 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs7.15 to Rs367.21 per litre, while kerosene oil now costs Rs289.37 per litre after a Rs6.78 increase.
According to Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, the revised prices are calculated using a rolling seven-day average of international oil prices, aligning Pakistan's fuel pricing with global market practices.
The daily pricing mechanism was introduced in response to heightened volatility in international crude oil markets following renewed tensions in the Middle East. Before adopting daily revisions, the government had been reviewing petroleum prices on a weekly basis after the regional conflict escalated on February 28.
